Visiting Mai-Kai with Stan Vadrna

Stan Vadrna is one of the most famous bartender from Slovakia. His style is inspired with Tiki Bar school and his dream was to visit Fort Lauderdale, more precisely famous restaurant with polynesian show – MAI-KAI.

Opened in 1956, the Mai-Kai stood alone on the outskirts of Ft. Lauderdale. Now, over 50 years later it’s still on the same place with the same owners and same quality. Mai-Kai is our little paradise features 8 Polynesian style Dining Rooms, Molokai Bar, Gift Shop, tropical gardens and an exciting Polynesian Revue.

But most important for us was their world famous cocktails. Thanks to GM Kern, we was able to visit preparing rooms and kitchen and it’s gorgeous to see this amazing history.
Of corse we enjoyed an amazing dinner. I ordered best steak in my life prepared on the old mongolian owen and few outstanding drinks.
